Nordic Walking is a fantastic way to turn a simple walk into full body exercise.  It is a great outdoor activity that can be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of age, ability and fitness level - from wellness walks and walk workouts, to trail walks, and cross training.

Nordic Walks

We offer a variety of Nordic walking activities, as outlined below. If you have any questions please do get in touch.

Nordic Walk Workout

A cardiovascular workout with some strength and toning exercises along the way. These sessions are designed to help you progression towards your fitness goals. Duration 1 hr 15 mins


Fit4Life

Walk yourself fitter with this NHS Live Well choice! These sociable and safe walks will get you moving. Ideal if you don't feel ready to join longer or more vigorous walks. Duration: 1 hr 15 mins


Learn to Nordic Walk

A programme of expert tuition designed to get you going and give you the right level of competence to join regular Nordic walks. Duration: 2 x 1 hr 30 mins (this programme can be tailored to your requirements)

Trail Nordic Walk

Guided social Nordic walks for you to simply explore and enjoy the fabulous countryside. Walk location varies and we usually include a cafe/pub option. Duration: 2 to 4 hrs


Challenge Events

Join Team Pipsticks at the British Nordic Walking Challenge events.  We also have our own Chilterns Walking Festival Charity Challenge Nordic Walk, usually in May and October.​


Technique Workshop

We focus on analysing your technique, using specific drills and video to ensure that you are getting the maximum benefit from using your poles. Duration 1 hr 30 mins


Ski and Trek Prep

Bespoke programmes designed to help you prepare for other activities, including trail running and your summer trek or winter ski holidays.

How to Book

Simply phone, text or e-mail to let us know whether to expect you (and if you would like to hire poles). All competent Nordic walkers are welcome to join our regular walks.  If you are not sure which walk would suit you best, please get in touch.

​Prior to taking part in our Nordic walking activities you will be required to complete a health questionnaire and declaration.

 

Nordic Walk Fees (regular walks):

  • Pay as You Go   £10

  • 5 Walk Card                          £40

  • Technique Development      £35

  • Learn to NW Workshop        £50 (2 x 1.5 hr sessions - includes use of equipment)

  • Pole hire - £2 pp per walk
